Kyle Petty Sends Warning to Rick Hendrick’s Team After HMS’ Le Mans Success

NASCAR

Hendrick Motorsports had a pretty solid Le Mans, as they passed the endurance test. Notably, NASCAR returned to Le Mans for the first time since 1976 and achieved great success.

On the other hand, NASCAR analyst Kyle Petty sends a warning to the HMS team regarding their chances in the Cup Series, as they celebrate the Le Mans success.

HMS’ Le Mans success

Previously, NASCAR announced the Garage 56 program in collaboration with Hendrick Motorsports, Goodyear, and Chevrolet. In the recently-concluded Le Mans, the HMS team finished in the 39th position. However, started celebrating even before the end of the race, as they passed the endurance test. After the race, Rick Hendrick said, “The last thing we were going to do was come here and fall on our nose.”

Kyle Petty sends warning to HMS

While HMS are celebrating their achievement in Le Mans, their Cup Series future is still hanging in balance. Although Petty praised HMS for the Le Mans success, he also said, “Yeah, it was at France, that’s the problem, that was the problem this weekend, but they’re just in far enough off, they’re a little off-road course.”

Petty fears for HMS’ playoff chances

Chase Elliott has not won a single race so far this season and is way behind in the points. Hence, Petty said, “I think the suspension has changed the way they have to look at these next races, these next 10 races, because they are not going to point their way in… let’s say they have a steep incline in a 10-race season to get one win to move themselves into the playoffs, and that’s a lot to ask at this point of time.”
