NASCAR Faced a Title Showdown a Full Decade Before Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s Showdown

In 2021, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen headed into the season finale race, dead even on points. Eventually, Verstappen prevailed courtesy of a controversial finish, but that’s another story. However, in 2011, NASCAR faced a similar situation in terms of points.

What Happened At NASCAR?

Around the time, the battle was between Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards for the title. Ahead of the race, Stewart firmly declared that he would ‘wreck his mom’ if it meant that he would win.
