Ty Gibbs was all set to end his season on another high with hopes of putting on a solid display a day after being crowned the NASCAR Xfinity Series champion. However, that wasn’t the case as it was reported that he was sitting out of the Phoenix Cup race.
The reason stated for his absence was ‘a family emergency’, which has now become very unfortunate news, only a few hours later. Coy Gibbs, the father of Ty Gibbs and the son of Coach Joe Gibbs, has tragically passed away at the age of 49.
This news brought out a flood of tributes from NASCAR fans, who shared their condolences and sympathies with the Xfinity Series champion and the entire Gibbs organization and family.
