“One More Reason Not to Go” – Controversy Erupts as NASCAR Bends Down to Leverage Engine Roar for “One and Done” Chicago Street Race

In July, NASCAR drivers will race at the Chicago Street Court. However, recent reports suggested that they will use mufflers to reduce the noise of the cars. Hence, Nextgen cars will use mufflers. However, this news already making a lot of noise, as fans are not very happy about it.

The importance of the Chicago race

As per reports, around 100,000 spectators could turn out for the race in Chicago in July. NASCAR Chicago Street Race President Julie Giese recently said, “It’s an important market for us from a fan perspective… a great opportunity to showcase the city as well as NASCAR.”

Cars will be running with mufflers 



Julie Giese recently told Chicago Sun Times,
“Our NASCAR Cup Series cars will be running mufflers for this event… this is something that has only been done in one other race in an effort to continue to mitigate the sound.”


Fans are already showing displeasure 

After this news came out, many fans took to social media to express their displeasure. One fan wrote, “One more reason not to go.” One more fan said, “This is looking like a one-and-done.” Another user wrote, “Seriously, go back to Chicagoland what a bunch of babies.”
