Rick Hendrick Likely Killed off Tony Stewart’s Hopes Involving Corey Lajoie With Thoughtful Antics

NASCAR

Tony Stewart’s team is currently going through a transition period, as Kevin Harvick has decided to step away after this season. Meanwhile, another SHR driver Aric Almirola is on the verge of retiring as well.

Earlier, Corey Lajoie was rumored to replace Almirola on Stewart’s team. Recently, Rick Hendrick probably killed Stewart's dream with a special gift.

Lajoie’s season so far

Lajoie is having one of the best seasons of his career. His average finish is 19.7, which is far better than his previous year’s score of 24.3. Speaking about his performance, he said, “We’re just performing to what we all thought we were capable of. I think we still have some ways to go. I think we have opportunities to sneak a win out here, either at Atlanta or Daytona at the end of the regular season, and just keep going consistent.”

Tony Stewart’s driver PROBLEM

Stewart already found a replacement for Harvick, as Josh Berry will drive in 2024. On the other hand, Almirola was on the verge of retiring last year before returning back to SHR. Hence, it’s highly likely that he will retire after this season. Earlier, Zane Smith was rumored to be the next SHR driver. However, many experts named Lajoie as a potential replacement.
