Joey Logano has a history of doing things on the racetrack that has divided NASCAR fans. But it seems like now, the defending Cup champion might have united almost everyone against him with his recent opinion on the Daytona 500.
“We don’t have one lap of practice before we qualify for our biggest race of the year. Somebody had to explain that to me. I mean, I can tell you this from the owner’s perspective, it was never brought up to us. Hey, we’re going to cut this you know.”
“Let’s be honest, the practice they had before, qualifying…that’s a snoozefest, bro. You wait in line for Lord knows how long. You make your two or three laps, wide open by yourself and it’s like, ‘Did you learn anything?'”
“Unless you’re out there drafting, practicing in the draft, that’s a little bit more fun. But then the crew chiefs don’t want to do that, they don’t want to risk their car. I’m with NASCAR on this one. To hell with it.”
