NASCAR drivers are known for their intense and competitive nature, which can often lead to frustration and anger both on and off the track. During a recent Denny Hamlin podcast, he was asked by his co-host about how he controls his anger.
“When something negative happens to me after a race, I’m quiet for a while. And then halfway midflight, I’ll start to open up and start to vent. And I need you guys to have my back… Just for the record, I have reprimanded Jared at times on my social…”
“There are times we have where I’m p*ssed off at the situation and Jared is trying to do his job on the social side. Put out the content, and I’m like, Jared, no I’m not trying to be funny publicly right now. I want them to know I’m p*ssed.”
Denny Hamlin had been spun out by a loose Alex Bowman during the race. In a fit of rage, Denny slid in with his car and blocked Bowman’s way to the start-finish line. Denny stopped pushing Bowman’s car after he got a message from his crew chief.
