Ty Gibbs’ Revenge on Recuperating HMS Star Angers NASCAR Fanbase
NASCAR
Joe Gibbs’ grandson Ty Gibbs had a pretty awful weekend in New Hampshire. After a terrible qualifying session, Gibbs tried his best in the main race.
Unfortunately, a crash with a Hendrick Motorsports driver pushed him further down the track. When he tried to take revenge on the HMS driver, NASCAR took quick action, which angered a lot of fans.
Ty Gibbs’ awful race in NHMS
The race was delayed by a day due to heavy rainfall. During qualifying, it was evident that Gibbs was struggling to control his car. After a poor qualifying session, he started the race at the back of the grid. However, he gained plenty of track positions with his tremendous driving skills. Unfortunately, a nudge from Kevin Harvick created a massive mess for him. Then, HMS driver Alex Bowman shoved him into the fence.

After Bowman’s shove, Gibbs lost a lot of track positions. With 22 laps to go, Gibbs took his revenge and bumped Bowman from behind, as the HMS driver lost control. Although he regained control of the car, he was not happy about the push. Interestingly, the yellow flag was waved, even though there was no crash on the track.
Many fans questioned NASCAR's decision to raise the yellow flag, as Bowman clearly regained control of his car. One fan tweeted, “Caution for nothing nascar.” Another fan said, “Ty didn't do anything wrong, he got sandwiched by Bowman & Jones.” One more user said, “And then NASCAR puts Bowman back up in 14th? WTF?”
