Tyler Reddick Bashes Michael Jordan's $150 Million Team
NASCAR
Tyler Reddick, the driver of the #45 Toyota Camry for 23XI Racing, expressed his frustration after finishing fourth in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He said that his team was not at their best and that they struggled to catch up with the leader Daniel Suarez.
Reddick had a chance to defend his title at IMS
Reddick qualified second behind Suarez, who drives for Trackhouse Racing, another new team co-owned by Pitbull. Reddick had won the race at IMS last year when he was driving for Richard Childress Racing. He was hoping to repeat his success with his new team, which is co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.
Reddick faced problems in the first stage of the race
Reddick said that his car did not take off well in the first 15-20 laps of the race and that he lost some track position. He also said that he could not pass Suarez even though he was faster than him. He blamed the lack of strategy and execution for his team's shortcomings.
Reddick secured his playoff spot despite the disappointment
Reddick finished fourth behind Suarez, Kyle Busch, and Austin Cindric. He earned enough points to secure his spot in the playoffs, which will start in September. He said that he was proud of his team for making it to the playoffs, but that they need to work harder to compete with the top teams. He also praised Suarez and Trackhouse Racing for their impressive performance.
