In the 2023 FIBA World Cup bronze-medal game against Team USA, Dillion Brooks gave the finest performance of his short career. With 39 points and 7 three-pointers made, he had the most points in the game. Dillion Brooks had a significant role in Team USA's failure to bring any medals home. On his Instagram account, Big Diesel posted a video of Dillion Brooks' "GOATed" performance, acknowledging the character journey of one of the NBA's most despised villains. Shaq's position surprised many since, only five months prior, he thought Brooks would soon be out of the NBA.
