Overshadowing Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry, Magic Johnson and More, Josh Giddey Tops Rare Elite List

Almost all the records in the NBA are owned by a select few the likes of Michael Jordan, Lebron James, or Steph Curry. Lebron James recently overtook Kareem Abdul Jabbar in the scoring department when he scored his career 38,338th point against Oklahoma City Thunder. Stephen Curry holds the bragging rights for most threes made in NBA history whereas Michael Jordan has got multiple three-peats.

But a surprising record came to notice recently. And turns out it’s held by neither of these superstars.

Josh Giddey joins an elite group

Josh Giddey was the sixth overall pick by Oklahoma City in the 2021 NBA draft. He featured in his first-ever post-season game when Oklahoma City beat the New Orleans Pelicans.

In that game, he achieved a rare feat. NBLfacts reported that Josh Giddey is now the first player ever to score over 30 points in his first-ever appearance in a post-season game. He is followed by some of the NBA legends like Allen Iverson, Kevin Durant, and Shaquille O’Neal. Oklahoma City is set to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second game of the post-season.

If they are to beat the Wolves their place in the NBA playoffs will be ensured. They might need Giddey’s heroics again as taking on the Wolves will not be an easy task.

Golden State Warriors set to take on the Sacramento Kings

Steph Curry and Co are set to take on the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Curry as usual will be vital in this playoff run against the Kings. He will also need the services of Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala if the Golden State is to win consecutive NBA championship titles.

It’s quite clear the Golden State Warriors are still one of the favorites to take home the NBA title. It remains to be seen what’s going to happen in the playoffs.
