Complete History of the Kevin Durant-Charles Barkley Feud After The Nets Star Called The 76ers Legend A Clown

NBA great Charles Barkley previously said that 12-time All-Star Kevin Durant was an insecure player at times. However, the Brooklyn Nets forward recently clapped back at Barkley for commenting on his personality.Kevin Durant wrote, “This clown does not have G14 classification to speak on the god, we have never had a real human interaction…carry on haaa“. What prompted this response from Durant was Charles Barkley trolling KD for not winning a championship away from the Golden State Warriors.Notably, Barkley prefaced his claim by saying that Kevin Durant is a “great player” and a “good dude”. Although he knew his take on KD offended the Brooklyn Nets player, he was emphatic that it was not his job to “worry about people’s feelings”.

Response from KD

A verified user on Twitter then called out KD for responding to Charles Barkley and in turn proving the latter’s point. KD did not dial back his words in his response: “I think it’s insecurity when u go on tv trying to take shots at my character as a man. But s**t, I am an ignorant jock, what do I know..” he concluded.

Charles Barkley of course has no NBA championships to his name while Kevin Durant won two championship rings with the Warriors in consecutive seasons.

Barkley voiced out the same perspective in August 2022. “He piggyback on the Warriors to win his first two championships,” Barkley said, and went on to describe KD as “an abject failure”.

Kevin Durant took a leaf from Shaq’s book

The terminology of the G-14 classification stems from the movie, ‘Rush Hour’. It is a term that is frequently voiced by Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal. The phrase indicated that Shaq can talk about a certain topic because he has enough championship rings to back up his point.

Interestingly, in 2017, Shaquille O’Neal served the same medicine to KD. “KD doesn’t have G-14 classification. He can’t talk to me like that… You are on the outside line with Charles Barkley“.
