“Everyone Knew My Face and Assumed They Knew My Story as Well”: Despite Being Famous, Michael Jordan’s Daughter Jasmine Admitted Hating Her First College Year in 2013

In the 1990s, Michael Jordan wasn’t only a household name in the basketball world, but also one of the most famous individuals in the world. However, everything in our society has its merits and demerits, and that was the case for the Chicago Bulls legend as well. Even though he had everything, fame did bring some disadvantages for him and his family. As a result of the media’s persistent attention and his inability to enjoy any privacy, he and his family experienced problems. Additionally, his children were receiving unwanted attention wherever they went. Jordan’s eldest daughter, Jasmine Jordan, spoke about this in an interview in 2013, pointing out the negative effects of fame. Syracuse University's David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics is where Jasmine received her degree. She once revealed how the attention she was receiving during her first year of college was very challenging and taxing.

The struggles she faced in college

A Chicago-based blog interviewed Jasmine Jordan in 2013. In the interview, she talked about going through that phase during her first year of college. “About a month or so before I officially moved in, there was an article written about me coming to Syracuse, and next thing I know the world knew where I was going,” she said.

Jasmine stated that she received over 1000 Facebook requests and countless followers on Twitter immediately after the article. She added, “Needless to say, that article brought unwanted attention to me and it made my first year hard because everyone knew my face and assumed they knew my story as well.”

Jasmine Jordan is paving her own path in the world of sports

At the moment, she works as a field representative for Nike and her father’s brand, Air Jordan, in the sports marketing department.

During her time in school, she had to deal with a lot of things and struggled with all this attention that was new to her. However, with time, she worked on herself to establish her own name in this society.
