LeBron James’ Comments After Embarrassing Pre-Season Loss to the Kings

With a 1-5 record for the pre-season, the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James certainly did not have a good start ahead of the new campaign. Head coach Darvin Ham has been trying out different lineups all pre-season. And the most recent change was moving Russell Westbrook to the bench, However, that too did not seem to work out in the favor of the Lakers. The Los Angeles Lakers faced a devastating blow at the hands of the Sacramento Kings losing the game 133-86.

Anthony Davis did not play this game and with about seven minutes left in the first quarter, Westbrook checked into the game. But after spending only five minutes on the floor, he exited the game with a left hamstring injury and did not return. The rest of the squad did not have a good game either. Superstar LeBron James only played 20 minutes.

Post the game, James was interviewed about the team’s performances in pre-season and his thoughts on trying out different lineups. James commented, “Obviously we mix-matched with a lot of different lineups and things of that nature so, but the way we wanna play no matter who’s out on the floor, that’s what you take from it.”

Another reporter asked James whether his feelings toward the team changed at all. James mentioned that he always comes in as optimistic no matter what. He went on to say, “I like the way our team is constructed, but we have to continue to work.” Even after playing 20 minutes in the game, he ended the night shooting 5/11 from the floor. James scored 12 points, and three rebounds to go along with it.

LeBron was the only player on the team to score double digits points as they suffered a 133-86 blowout loss to the Sacramento Kings. The rest of the team failed to contribute to the offense losing by a 47-point differential. Even if it is a pre-season game, the huge margin between the final scores of both teams would have any fanbase riled up.
