LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Scottie Pippen in Attendance as Sons Light Up the Stage

LeBron James spent his day off while watching his sons Bronny James and Bryce James play high school basketball. The four-time NBA Champion’s sons play for Sierra Canyon and their team was up against Christ the Kings from New York. Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony, represents the Kings. Additionally, Scottie Pippen and Penny Hardway’s sons were part of the Sierra Canyon team. Most would have assumed this game to be an ordinary one. However, for many in the basketball community, this was a historic occasion, and views about the same were expressed online. Scottie Pippen, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony sat back and watched their sons create magic on the court. However, for James and Anthony, watching their sons play against each other was a full-circle moment. 20 years ago, the two NBA Superstars faced each other while donning their high school uniforms. Anthony’s team managed to beat James’ team that game. 20 years later, the four-time MVP’s son has finally taken revenge. Bronny James’ team beat Kiyan’s Kings in a 62-51 game. With that said, fans loved every bit of the game.

During the game, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony shared a wholesome hug while being on the sidelines. Pictures of this interaction were posted by Anthony on his Twitter account. He captioned the tweet, “Brothers” while tagging King James. The duo was also seen sharing a joke or two.

Fans were quick to express their joy online. They found this reunion to be cool and wild. Some pointed out the height and level of performance shown by the sons of these superstars.

Many fans were in a reminiscent mood as they recalled having watched both NBA All-Stars play during their high school days. Fans also declared that NBA’s future was here.

The bond between the two All-Stars

Earlier on the ‘All the Smoke’ podcast, Anthony opened up about his bond with LeBron James. Despite having played against each other rather regularly, the two were teammates while playing for Los Angeles Lakers in the 2021-22 season. The 10-time All-Star stated that the duo connected because of the similarity they had in their upbringing and family backgrounds. He claimed that the two were looking for a relationship akin to brotherhood.

Anthony said, “I was looking for some type of relationship like that with somebody, he was looking for that as well, so we came in each other’s life at the right time. We were both looking for that brotherhood.”
