LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry And Other NBA Stars Singing Praises About 7'4 Wonderkid

While nothing is ever certain in the NBA, next year’s number one overall draft pick just might be. The way young sensation Victor Wembanyama has been playing, any and every team would want to get their hands on him. And it would be shocking to see another player get drafted with the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft ahead of him. In recent news, Victor Wembanyama made his debut in the FIBA World Cup with the senior French national team. France went up against Lithuania and all eyes were on the 18-year-old wonderkid. France came out on top with a final score of 90-65. In the 23 minutes he played, Wembanyama scored 20 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal while shooting 6/13 from the field. Wembanyama managed to have an excellent outing, considering this was his debut game.

LeBron James

"No one has ever seen anyone as tall as he is but as fluid and as graceful as he is out on the floor," added James. "At 7-4, 7-5, 7-3, whatever the case may be, his ability to put the ball on the floor, shoot stepback jumpers out of the post, stepback 3s, catch-and-shoot 3s, block shots, he's for sure a generational talent."

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Antetokoumpo was the latest guest on Ibaka’s popular show ‘How Hungry Are You’. During their conversation, Ibaka asked him the question the NBA world wants the answer to. Just how good is Victor Wembanyama? Antetokoumpo said: “If you’re not ready, this kid is going to be a problem. Big problem. I’ve never seen this before in my life. I saw him up close. He was in the same team as my brother.” The ‘Greek Freak’ continued, “He can block shots like Rudy, but he can shoot like KD.”

Kevin Durant

"That type of talent and skill just puts a smile on your face if you play basketball," said Durant. "The evolution of the game has taken us this far. We got a 7'5" dude that's able to do everything on the court. It's inspiring to a lot of people.

Stephen Curry

“He’s solid, he’s solid. He’s like the 2K create-a-player,” Curry said of Wembanyama. “Every point guard that wants to be seven-foot, cheat-code type vibes. He’s a solid talent. It’s great to watch. They had a pretty entertaining game with the Ignite team, so it was dope.”
