The Infamous Incident of Michael Jordan Punching Steve Kerr Resurfaced After Draymond Green Resorts to Violence with Warriors Teammate

The Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green is currently all over the news and not for good reasons. Green reportedly punched fellow Warriors teammate, Jordan Poole, during the team’s practice session. Several NBA stars have taken to their social media accounts to express their displeasure with Green’s actions. Additionally, NBA fans too are reacting to the physical altercation. As per reports, Draymond Green was involved in a fight with teammate Jordan Poole On October 5, 2022, the Warriors forward reportedly punched Poole during the team’s practice after Poole shoved him first. The Warriors confirmed the news a day after the incident occurred. While Poole did not sustain any major injuries, Green will be facing disciplinary action from the Warriors. A video of the fight was leaked on the Internet, therefore prompting the team to investigate and find out the source of the video.

While verbal disputes have been known to be a common occurrence during practices, the incident might be deemed as taking a step too far. Although Green has apologized to the team, he will not be taking part in practice sessions for a while. Furthermore, the head coach Steve Kerr and GM Bob Myers have stated that the team will be handling the Disciplinary actions internally.

The team is currently working out the situation and will hopefully work out the differences before the season starts. Additionally, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and GM Bob Myers have stated that they are positive that the team will be able to get over the incident without any issues.

Meanwhile, NBA fans have expressed mixed reactions on the incident. Additionally, some even compared Green to Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. MJ too was involved in a physical confrontation with a former Bulls teammate, who is coincidentally the current head coach of the Warriors. In 1995, Jordan struck Steve Kerr in the eye during the Bulls practice, after Kerr hit Jordan in the chest.

His Airness reportedly apologized to Kerr and regretted his actions. However, no disciplinary action was seemingly taken against MJ at the time. This might be the reason some fans felt the need to compare the two incidents. The Warriors have assured that the incident will not affect the team in any way. However, fans surely are hoping it doesn’t affect their performance in the games.
