Dwyane Wade surprised the hoops fans when he announced his ownership in the WNBA team, Chicago Sky, via Twitter: “It’s official! This is for the home team- literally. #SkyTown @ChicagoSky.” After announcing the news, he mentioned an important message to the fans.
In order to entice potential investors, he emphasised that the business side of the league had a lot of possibilities for development and expansion. Alexa Philippou of ESPN reports that he also added, "I'm going to enjoy this process, probably even more than the NBA process, because this one is not ready-made."
With her dynamic performance, Griner's comeback to the floor is already paying off for the Chicago Sky fans. Wade will also participate in the action by supporting the squad from the side court alongside her. Strangely enough, Griner recently won everyone over with the first dunk of the year. With an 8-12 record, the Sky are presently the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference.
