After ESPN Shut Doors on Stephen A. Smith’s Colleagues, NBA Millionaire Breaks Silence Only to Accept Harsh Reality of Lay Off

Even though it has only been a few weeks, the scars are still raw. ESPN participated in Disney's cost-cutting programme in an unprecedented way. Twenty very charismatic on-air pundits were fired from their positions. Even the supporters gasped in shock at some of the names. The purge failed to save Max Kellerman, Jalen Rose, Keyshawn Johnson, or even Jeff Van Gundy. The former Indiana Pacers guard didn't peacefully depart the headquarters as they were now free to consider their future.

Former ESPN employee sees the funny side of the layoffs

The ESPN job cuts were dreadful. Some devoted long-time workers had to leave their company. Some of the most illustrious figures in the sports community also left. In fact, the purge was highly unexpected.

Even Stephen A. Smith, the public face of the sports forum, began to worry about the future of his employment. Most people who left the area did so politely and with thanks for ESPN. “Today I join the many hard-working colleagues who have been laid off. Heartbreaking-but 27 years at ESPN was a good run. So grateful for a 38 yr career!” tweeted Susan Kolber, a former NFL personality on the media network.

Jalen rose's hilarious tweet

Jalen Rose, though, chose a different course of action. Instead, he shamelessly exposed ESPN to the mirror of reality. At least that's how he views the major media companies now that they've lost some of their biggest catches, like Rose himself.
