MJ MADE THE UNLIKELY CHOICE

Adidas and Converse were industry leaders prior to the Jordan brand. Converse was probably the most well-known brand in the NBA. The main justification was that they were affiliated with two of the NBA's biggest players, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. Conversely, Adidas was a well-known name in and of itself. Nike didn't appeal to anyone, not even Michael Jordan. However, under the advice of his parents, MJ decided on the swoosh that would fundamentally alter the market's characteristics.

Affleck recalls that he and his younger sibling Casey Affleck were huge sneakerheads in their youth. Casey is a well-known performer who even received an Oscar for his performance in Manchester by the Sea. The "Batman" actor remembered discovering a photo of his sibling sporting a pair of Jordans while doing research for the movie.

And then it became all about Nike and Jordans.”
