Two of the league's best offensive players right now are Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. For a while now, KD has likely been the league's top offensive player, and Booker isn't far behind. However, Kevin Garnett believes that Booker should get more attention than KD.
In the recent episode of KG Certified, the Big Ticket told Paul Pierce, “I don’t think the responsibility is on KD, I think this is Booker’s team.” He said that KD shouldn’t be burdened with making every play anymore. “Everybody in the cast coming to support him and I don’t think it’s fair to put pressure on KD like that.”
The Suns are the favourites to win the title the following season, particularly with the arrival of three-time All-Star Bradley Beal. Even more offensive firepower will be added by the former Washington Wizards player. But KG still wants Booker to assume the reins of leadership because he believes it will only help KD. He compared it to how LeBron James's move to Los Angeles benefitted Anthony Davis.
The NBA legend claimed that it was Anthony Davis who made LeBron James look better. “Anthony Davis made LeBron better,” he emphatically exclaimed. It was the greatness of not just LeBron, but also AD that led the Lakers to the title in 2020. Davis regularly stepped up and demanded the ball go through him throughout that championship run, something Garnett would like to see Devin Booker do.
