He shared, “You know he passed that Sunday and I was driving home from North Carolina. I had been speaking at a church in North Carolina that day and I was having a great day because in attendance at that church service was my baseball coach when I was 10 years old. And his son is the pastor at this church and so we had this wonderful time that day“.
His eldest son made the tragic phone call and broke the news of Kobe Bryant's demise. Ernie and many others were left reeling with a great feeling of grief as they came to terms with the fact that such a bright life had been cut short.
