Before it ever began, Capital One's The Match, a celebrity golf event including the Splash Brothers and NFL stars Pat Mahomes and Travis Kelce, went viral. While the NBA world supported its heroes as they rose to fame, NFL stars ultimately won the match. There was more to it, though. While at South Lake Tahoe, Steph Curry had other plans. Moreover, Mahomes' anxious moment was captured on camera in a Warriors video that was published.
In the video, the Dubs superstar seemed greeting his competitors ahead of the game during the practice. He eventually met Mahomes, who was practicing his swings. During that time, the NFL star said, “I’m just trying to get in the 70’s one year.” Curry replied, “It’s gonna happen,” and Mahomes immediately responded, “it’s my putty I’m scared I put scared out here.”
The sporting world erupted in excitement as soon as Steph Curry won the ACC tournament. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and other stars showered the superstar with adulation.
Notably, Patrick Mahomes himself praised his golf rival with a special tweet. He wrote, “I wish I was as cool as @StephenCurry30.” Moreover, Steph urged all his colleagues to pick up a golf club in their leisure, during an interview.
