After remaining inactive on Instagram for five weeks, James Harden took to the platform to showcase his wine products, J-Harden Wines. He recently shared a picture of his products and wrote, “wouldn’t put my name on it if it wasn’t the best,” in the caption. Additionally, the Sixers star also hinted at the expansion of his brand in the caption. It read, “We are just getting started.”
Harden isn't the first NBA player to have his own an alcohol company. He is actually one of the most recent entries in the field. It's interesting to note that Stephen Curry, a two-time NBA MVP, debuted The Gentleman's Cut, his brand-new whisky, during the postseason. The 10x All-Star chose wine instead of strong booze, as many contemporary NBA players did, and he also had an odd rationale for doing so.
What led Harden to start his own wine company?
As was already noted, it's rare for an NBA player to own a wine company; the majority choose hard liquor. But in a recent interview, Harden explained why he prefers wine over alcoholic beverages. He said, “I’m getting a little older, so the hard liquor is very. It’s very different, difficult to recover from, so you know we looked into the wine.”
