The Portland Trail Blazers selected Scoot Henderson third overall in the draft. He finally got to play his first game for the Blazers in the NBA Summer League after much anticipation. Henderson demonstrated his abilities to the globe in under 21 minutes.
He demonstrated his remarkable agility, ball handling ability, and vision by scoring 13 points in the game's first half alone. He added six assists and five rebounds to his totals. The 19-year-old reached every area of the court that he desired before suffering an injury that forced him to abandon Summer League competition. NBA fans and pundits were in awe of his extremely successful tenure. One of them was Bill Simmons, who has a $120 million net worth.
Simmons then talked about Henderson’s potential and future in the league. “He’s gonna be a f***ing star,” he exclaimed. “He just has it. I’ve been watching basketball my whole life…..he f***ing has it. He can do two things that you can see right away….I haven’t seen anybody this young be able to do this since Rose and Westbrook.”
About Henderson’s attitude, Simmons said, “He’s a f***ing Alpha. He owned the court….we were just in awe of him.” After multiple comments analyzing the teen sensation’s game, the sportscaster said: “LeBron was like this….there’s real urgency if I’m Portland“.
According to ESPN, the rapper frequently attended games of the then-rising star, which finally alarmed the devoted Cavs fans. James' deal with the Cavaliers was about to expire, and some fans thought Jay Z would entice him to Brooklyn. James eventually joined the Miami Heat, and the rest is history.
