Shaquille O’Neal Blames Stephen Curry and Draymond Green for Tardiness as Fans Marinate in Heatwave

Due in part to a few sightings of NBA stars, the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco is the most talked-about event this month. Shaquille O'Neal is one of the key draws to Golden State Park. He is not a visitor, participant, host, or crasher. Superman invigorated the scene as platinum-selling rap artist and master of electronic dance music, "DJ Diesel." However, he did cause some unease among the audience present.

Golden State Warriors stars take the fall for Shaquille O’Neal

As soon as Shaquille O'Neal stepped onto the Twin Peaks set at Outside Lands, it was brimming with "Big Diesel" energy. 'You're Not Alone' by Frou Frou and 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua were just a couple of the well-known songs the DJ played throughout his set. He even joined the stage crashers in their antics. During the performance, a small child got to stand on the giant's shoulders.

O'Neal's performance was one of the festival's most eagerly awaited performances, and fans wanted to experience it all. But due to this artist's tardiness for his own performance, they arrived a few minutes early. One cannot blame the throng for being restless given the intense heat. To keep the crowd engaged, two more DJs launched the afternoon session in place of O'Neal. After about 10 minutes, DJ Diesel showed there.

Now it’s not uncommon for a star or two to get late to a performance. Fans still tend to worry or get upset, though. But after Shaq arrived and explained his tardiness, you couldn’t be mad at him anymore. “Sorry I’m late,” O’Neal was quick to apologize, as per SF Chronicle, and then swiftly blamed someone else. “I was chilling with Steph Curry and Draymond Green.”

The 4x NBA champion catered to Warriors fans

O'Neal does have a soft spot for the Warriors' athletes. These days, he makes his affection for Stephen Curry a public spectacle. Warriors players crowded the VIP sections to watch Shaq perform. Curry didn't, however, wreck his own stage.
