Shaquille O’Neal Exposes Stephen Curry to Stinging Reality Despite Showering High Magic Johnson Praise: “One Season Thing”

The way the game is played has changed thanks to Stephen Curry. The baby-faced assassin has been instrumental in revolutionising the game as players and aficionados have become more dedicated to developing the three-ball. Shaquille O'Neal, a former member of the Los Angeles Lakers, refused to include Curry on his list of the most dominant players while praising the Dubs' talisman as the "best point guard of all time."

Shaquille O’Neal’s divisive take on Warriors’ Stephen Curry

The three hosts of The Big Podcast with Shaq talked extensively about Chef Curry and his supremacy in the game in the most recent edition. Shaq's claim that Curry was the greatest point guard of all time generated a discussion on the show with co-host Nischelle Turner. Turner then questioned Big Diesel about his assertion that Steph was one of the league's most dominant players.

What SHAQ SAID

Shaq was quick to say no to Turner’s take. When asked why he felt that way, the 4-time NBA champion said, “He can’t score at will, he can shoot at will.” The 51-year-old went on to give a stinging take, “Most dominant point guards, yes, but not dominant players.” The co-host then asked O’Neal to explain further, he added, “When you’re dominant, it’s not a one-season thing.” Seemingly Shaq may have been referring to Curry’s last championship run where he carried the Dubs to bring home another ring.

Is Shaq right in choosing Stephen Curry over Magic?

Co-host Nischelle Turner questioned Shaq on whether he would choose Curry over Magic Johnson while he was claiming that Curry was the greatest point guard in history. "You put him over Magic?" asked Turner. She asked again, more emphatically, "Over Magic? The Big Aristotle said, "Yes," in response. Absolutely, I am. Yes, you heard it first here. Shaq continued by pointing out how the game has changed and how much of a part the 35-year-old has had in that change. The three-point god undoubtedly played a significant role in the game's evolution. Magic was now a conventional pass-first point player with a knack for spotting open teammates.
