Several athletes, including Patrick Mahomes, Candace Parker, Jamal Murray, and actor Mark Wahlberg, sang praises for rising Iowa Hawkeyes sensation Caitlin Clark prior to the women's NCAA championship game. They shared their gratitude for the star's game-winning effort against South Carolina on social media on Friday.

 Friday night semi-final clash

The Friday night semifinal matchup featured the South Carolina Gamecocks versus the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes maintained their winning streak from earlier games and completely overwhelmed the Gamecocks to win 73-77. Despite the team's collective effort, the Hawkeyes' point guard Caitlin Clark stuck out. The 21-year-old scored 41 points for the second game in a row to advance her squad to the championship game.

This season's greatest discovery during March Madness has undoubtedly been Clark. With a 41-point outburst on Friday, the 21-year-old rising star single-handedly carried her squad to the NCAA Championship game. Sports celebrities and analysts flooded social media with praise after the contest. 

Mark Wahlberg joined Patrick Mahomes and others to wish Clark

On Sunday, the Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers will play in the NCAA women's basketball championship game. Actor Mark Wahlberg teamed up with NFL star Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, Luka Garza, and other legendary athletes for a unique video clip wishing Clark before the game on Friday. Mahomes said in the video, “Congrats on a hell of a year… the job’s not done, go win the championship.”

 “I know one thing for sure. I’m not the only one up at 4 am….Now is the time,” said Wahlberg. Numerous thousands of supporters wished the Hawkeyes luck in the video's comments area.
