WATCH: Stephen A. Smith Slaps Clippers Star Paul George With ‘Failure to Win A Championship’ Question

Since his time with the Indiana Pacers, Paul George has earned a reputation as one of the league's most lethal offensive threats. His on-court talent combines a unique balance of stature and guard-like technique to produce talents deserving of the Hall of Fame. He stands out even more because of his superior defensive skills. He is equally capable of outrunning shorter, quicker guards or shutting down other good wings. Paul George is a well-rounded and complete player, but he still lacks the one honour that guarantees a player's place in NBA history.

Smith questions Paul George on failing to deliver a championship

Smith asked George a troubling question as part of his earlier this year's shenanigans with Paul George. Recently, Paul George made an appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show. The two got together to talk about many aspects of life, the impending NBA season, Paul George's new podcast, "The P Show," and other topics. Smith wasted no time in asking Paul George a blunt inquiry about the causes of his championship drought early on in their talk. George, who was used to Smith's candour, immediately offered his opinion.

What Stephen A. Smith said

The only thing i can answer to that is just unfortunate events. And for me its just been injuries. Every chance and opportunity that I’ve had, since Indiana, has fallen short because of an injury. People don’t know the Utah series my first year in Okhlahoma, I had partial torn meniscus. My game started to decline as the medicine was wearing off. You watch the end of that series, I was barely moving, I was barely creating separation on stuff. Just coz I couldn’t move anymore at that point.
