In 2025, the NBA will rearrange its media rights. Numerous IT firms are interested in working with the basketball league because they recognise its international reach. Bloomberg claims that Jeff Bezos is one of their seekers. Walt Disney, Apple, YouTube, and Amazon have all shown an interest in broadcasting regional NBA games. Tech behemoths are considering purchasing media rights from the insolvent Diamond Sports Group.
A non-identifiable source revealed only a few details regarding the incident. He notes that these well-known figures in the media and technology sectors are looking into this possibility. One requirement listed by the individual is that they want to obtain a sizable number of teams. Another satellite-TV provider, DirecTV, expressed interest.
Currently, 15 clubs, or 50 percent of the NBA, continue to use Bally Sports RSNs to broadcast their local matches. Bally Sports RSNs' owner, Diamond Sports Group, has been navigating the bankruptcy process since March. Three teams cut connections with Bally Sports RSNs as a result.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, O’Neal emphasized, “Nobody on this planet can compete with Big Man JB,” using the moniker for Bezos. He then joked, “Because you know what? I just ordered 50 things off Amazon today. Big Man JB got that money coming in.”
