The NFL community recently lost one of its legends. Unfortunately, the former fullback for Cleveland Brown, James Nathaniel Brown, passed away on May 18th, leaving millions of fans in tears. Brown lived a full life that was not restricted to football only. He used his fame and stature to do something impactful for the world and for the people in his community. He was an active participant in the civil rights movement. He became a famous personality through his performances on the football field and acts of goodwill outside of it. He died at the age of 87 due to natural causes. And he has left behind a legacy that the fans will look up to and take inspiration from.

Kareem recalls a memory of jim brown

While millions of fans are mourning the loss of Brown, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar remembered the time he was invited to the Cleveland Summit by Brown. He penned an emotional message for the late NFL sensation who came to lend his support to boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

Jabbar shares a historic photo

The NBA legend took to his Twitter to share the famous picture of Brown delivering a speech in Cleveland with boxing legend Muhammad Ali sitting beside him. The picture was taken at the Cleveland Summit in 1967. It should be noted that this summit is also called the “Muhammad Ali Summit.”

Jim Brown’s family remembers the legend

Brown’s wife, Monique Brown, took to her Instagram to remember her husband’s life. And announced the news of his passing to the whole world. In her message, she wrote, “To the whole world, he was an activist, actor, and a football star. To our family, he was a loving and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.”
