"Bring the Creamsicle back": Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 28-Year Prior Bold Move Sparks Social Media Frenzy

In 1995, the fortunes of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers changed forever, as they drafted two players, Derrick Brooks, and Warren Sapp. Since that day, the Bucs have become a force in the NFL. Recently, the Bucs celebrated 28 years of that Draft day and the NFL world can’t keep calm.

The 1995 NFL DraftIn the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft, the Bucs picked Warren Sapp as the 12th overall pick. Then again at the 25th overall, the Bucs picked Derrick Brooks. Warren went on to become one of the most prolific defensive linemen; as for Brooks, he became one of the most dynamic linebackers in the league.


Two defenders helped the Bucs win Super Bowl


Picking both defenders in the same NFL Draft changed the Bucs’ fortunes, as they won the first Super Bowl in the franchise history during the 2002 season. Later, both of them were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Earlier, the official Instagram handle of the Buccaneers posted the picture and in the caption, wrote, “28 years ago, Tampa Bay changed forever.” Many fans also commented, as one user wrote, “Bring back the creamsicle and Bruce!” One more user said, “Need another draft like this one.”
