Global Rap Sensation Cardi B Turned Down Super Bowl Halftime Performance Alongside Maroon 5 To Stand Alongside Colin Kaepernick

Cardi B's rep set the record straight on why the rapper refused to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show with Maroon 5, with whom she collaborated on No. 1 hit "Girls Like You." Sources told Page Six that Cardi, 26, demanded $1 million and "the red carpet treatment" to perform at football's biggest night, but her publicist shot down the claims.

What Cardi said on this

"The rumor circulating that she wants a million dollars and she wants her own set is false,"

Cardi B added

"There was never a firm offer to begin with for a performance. There [were] talks about it, but she was not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement."

Cardi B concluded

"But again, there was never a solid offer for her to say yes or no to regarding the Super Bowl. She is already confirmed to do a set with Bruno Mars that weekend."
