Tampa Bay Buccaneers To Bring Back ‘Creamsicle’ Retro Kits For 2023 Season

The return of the Creamsicles have, unfortunately, been pushed back a year. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Monday that the return of their orange "Creamsicle" throwback uniforms will make their way back into the Bucs' uniform rotation during the 2023 season, a year later than originally planned as the NFL ruled last year that teams can begin to wear throwback helmets in 2022.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers post

"Big news, krewe! Throwback uniforms returning in 2023. Due to global supply chain challenges, we will have to wait one more year than hoped."

What Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford said on this

“We love to kind of reminisce and play some ’70s and ’80s music and bring out the big pom-poms and the creamsicle. So it’s not a question of if, it’s just when, and we’ll definitely keep you posted.”

The fan-favorite throwback games will be back in 2023.

Along with the "creamsicle" jerseys making a return, the fan-favorite throwback games will be back in 2023. In addition to the team wearing the throwback uniforms, the team would deck out Raymond James Stadium in orange for those occasions. Those throwback games began in 2009 and ran through the 2012 season before the one-helmet rule came to be in 2013.
