Why Did NFL World Remember Ex-Commanders Star Who Would Have Turned 40 Yesterday?

Former Commanders safety Sean Taylor tragically passed away during a shooting incident at the age of just 24. On the first of April, the player would have turned 40. Hence, the NFL world and the Commanders showed their gratitude by remembering the footballer. 

How did Sean Taylor die?


On November 26th, 2007, there was a break-in at Taylor’s residence. Then, he got shot in his upper thigh, which resulted in a lot of blood loss and ultimately he lost his life.


NFL remembers Taylor on his birthday

Earlier, NFL took to Twitter and posted a picture of him and in the caption, they wrote, “Today we remember the legendary Sean Taylor on what would’ve been his 40th birthday.”

Commanders also paid tribute to their former safety 

Before his demise, Taylor played 55 games for the Washington side, where he had 12 INTs, eight forced fumbles, and 1 TD. Earlier, the Commanders took to Instagram and wrote, “Sean would have turned 40 today. He’s always in our hearts.”
