“I Do Feel Legally Obligated to Inform You..” – Days After $143 Million-Valued Investment, JJ Watt Makes Crucial Announcement

Arguably one of the best defensive players of all time, JJ Watt recently announced his retirement from the NFL. He and his wife Kealia Watt have recently been in the news for their investment in a soccer club. And this made it more curious when the NFL star also made a witty Ryan Reynolds reference during the announcement.

Currently, Burnley is worth about $143 million. Weeks ago, Ryan Reynolds highlighted he was heavily emotionally invested in all his business ventures. Other than that, someone from behind the camera also asked JJ Watt whether he wanted to be like Reynolds. Surprisingly, it was a mixed reaction from either of them. While the NFL legend said no, Kealia Watt replied, “Yes Please!”

The club have twice been crowned champions of England in 1921 and 1960, the latter under legendary manager Harry Potts.

Watt’s retirement plan includes buying Burnley FC

Watt wrote, “Love this. Although I do feel legally obligated to inform you that I won’t actually be playing on the team. But I do support this 100%”. Although it seemed quite obvious, it was important considering the level of social media rumors that run these days.

“We don’t have ‘buy an entire European football club’ kind of money, we are more along the lines of minority investment but massive emotional investment”.

The fans hope that including the Watt family would help the club receive a steady cash flow. This would also have a direct effect on their performance during the transfer windows

Known as the Clarets, Burnley Football Club was formed in 1882 and currently play in the Championship.

In the previous season, the Clarets dropped down to the second division of English. But after a phenomenal season in the Championship under Vincent Kompany, but now they’re back!
