Fighting Career

Laura Sanko was, in fact, a boxer in the past. Sanko, also known as 'Fancy,' has five amateur fights and one professional fight under her belt in her brief MMA career.

Record

Laura Sanko has only fought in one professional fight, which she won via rear-naked choke submission in the second round against Cassie Rovv at Invicta FC 4.

Retirement reasons

She got pregnant while preparing for her second pro fight and when it became clear that her fighting career was going to be placed on hold for an indefinite amount of time.

Switching Career

Corey Smith, who always believed she would be great in front of the camera, reached out for a reporter's role at Invicta FC 5. This was her first event as a reporter, where she made her on-camera debut interviewing Marloes Coenen.

Entry in the big leagues

On November 12, 1993, Sanko made her UFC debut, becoming only the second female analyst for a UFC event.

New milestone in career

On September 1, 2021, at Dana White's Contender Series 37, the former fighter and UFC correspondent finally received her long-awaited chance to debut as a commentator.

Future Plans

Laura Sanko's ultimate objective after proving her mettle in MMA reporting is to join the colour commentary table at cageside, possibly among experienced UFC commentators like Jon Anik, Joe Rogan, and others.
