Dana White Snubs Khamzat Chimaev to Give Dricus du Plessis the Title Shot Against Sean Strickland

Dana White had promised the winner of Kamaru Usman vs Khamzat Khamzat Chimaev a title shot against Sean Strickland. However, the idea has been dropped by the UFC after Dana's latest revelation.

Dana White chooses Dricus to face Strickland

White announced on social media that Dricus Du Plessis will face Strickland at UFC 297 in Toronto. The middleweight bout will take place in January.

Chimaev’s issues, hand injury, and an under-par performance against Kamaru could be the reason for the decision.

Du Plessis back in the title fight again

Dricus was going to face Israel Adesanya for the title bout. However, due to a foot injury, Sean replaced him and clinched the title. Du Plessis is now back for a title shot in the middleweight.
