UFC Middleweight fighter Marvin Vettori, who has lost to Adesanya twice before, had dreams of facing him once again in the hopes of redemption. Unfortunately, Vettori failed to secure a win over Cannonier and his journey to the title shot came to a halt at the UFC Fight Night.

The match between Cannonier and Vettori was always supposed to be a gruesome one with both fighters putting their best foot forward in the hopes of a shot at the MW title. However, Jared Cannonier did exactly what he said he would- win.

Empathizing with the fighter and recognizing the fight he put up, some people commented appreciating his endurance and tough chin.
