John Kavanagh in his book 'Win or Learn' opened up and gave his honest account of training McGregor. From losing a fight to scamming his coach, what did the Irishman do and why?
John Kavanagh who is the Irish former mixed martial artist, and coach to the UFC star Conor McGregor in his book 'Win or Learn' shared how he was once scammed by McGregor when he was young and drifted away from his sport.
The Irishman lost a fight to Artemij Sitenkov in a Cage of Truth event, and this loss completely shifted McGregor's mindset, and he lost sight of his future.
Coach Kavanagh used to give tickets to his trained fighters in order for them to sell them to their relatives and friends. But after Irishman's defeat, McGregor told Kavanagh that he had forgotten the money at home and will bring it to the gym next week but didn't come back.
Kavanagh expressed that his gym was not doing well at the time when McGregor scammed and ran away but he remained patient with the Irishman's financial condition. Kavanagh kept calling him but as weeks became months, he gave up on him.
