Conor McGregor with his most recent defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021 has taken a long break away from the cage. His inactivity has raised many questions and the UFC commentator expressed the same during his recent podcast.
Joe Rogan and Derek from More Plates More Dates recently discussed the Irishman if his fame and success have caused him to lose his ambitions and desires to train, compete and win.
The UFC color commentator and Derek discussed McGregor's poor performances in his last few matches and what could be the reason behind them.
Joe Rogan further in the conversation added how McGregor's inactivity could be the reason for his loss. He said, "I wonder, you know, it could just be inactivity too. Inactivity is probably one of the bigger factors in his demise, maybe even more so than just the silk sheets. Like he said that after the Dustin Poirier fight when Poirier knocked him out."
During the post-fight interview after he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, the Irishman expressed how hard it is to overcome inactivity. He said, "It's hard to overcome inactivity over long periods of time, and that's it you know. The leg kicks were good, that low calf kick was very good... It's the inactivity and that's it. But Dustin's some fighter... I'll have to dust it off and come back."
