Seven years have passed since the Irishman knocked out Jose Aldo at UFC 194. From McGregor's meteoric rise to now, let's take a moment to look back at a record-breaking fight.
It was seven years ago when Conor McGregor became the UFC featherweight champion by knocking out José Aldo within 13 seconds.
This victory of the Irishman broke the record of the fastest KO in a title fight which was first owned by Ronda Rousey. McGregor secured the fastest title-fight victory in UFC history back in 2015.
Then rising star McGregor made history when he took just 13 seconds to knock out the long-reigning champion Jose Aldo to win at UFC 194. The Irishman shot a left hand which dropped Aldo to the canvas and then quickly McGregor landed a huge hammer fist on Aldo to win.
Later after his incredible victory, McGregor appreciated Aldo and said, "Jose was an incredible champion. He deserved to go a little bit longer. But I believe that precision beats power, and that's what you saw."
