McGregor had his last UFC fight at UFC 264 in July 2021 and hasn’t been tested since then. It’s quite understandable that he will need clearance from the agency before getting back to competing inside the octagon.
This year’s last UFC event, the UFC 296, has been scheduled for 16 December. So, it’s quite easy to calculate that all the UFC athletes intending to compete this year had to enlist themselves inside the USADA’s testing pool. But, even after the USADA’s clear announcement of their deadline, McGregor still failed to get himself enlisted inside their testing pool.
In a recent interview with TSN, Dana White said that he is highly bothered about what USADA decisions. He also expressed that McGregor’s fans could like to watch him fight this year.
“One hundred percent [There’s a chance Conor McGregor fights this year] He’s not [Back in the USADA testing pool]… The Conor Thing, who the hell now how that’s going to playout- who cares what USADA says, we’ll see what happens when it happens so I don’t know,” White said.
Although McGregor’s comeback is still doubtful this year, White’s statement has given strong faith in MMA fans. McGregor’s fans hope a special treatment to ‘The Notorious’ and ignore USADA guidelines.
