Malvern's Emma Celenza, a second-grader, exudes confidence despite her mid-forearm amputation. She credits her newfound self-assurance to horseback riding at Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy, a program tailored for people with various disabilities.

The Bond Between Emma and Hammy

Emma's life took a transformative turn when she met Hammy, a four-legged friend, and Jeannie Knowlton, the Executive Director of Hope Springs, who transformed Emma's affection for animals into a skillful hobby. Knowlton states, "We welcome individuals with various diagnoses, be they mental or physical disabilities. Once you walk through our doors, new opportunities await."

A Family Passion for Equestrian Therapy

Equestrian therapy is a shared passion for Knowlton and her daughter Dallas. She explained, "My older sister had physical disabilities and rode at Hope Springs. That's how I began as a volunteer. My mom has become an instructor, and my dad also lends a hand. Hope Springs is genuinely a central part of our family."
