‘Surf for All’ program gives kids with disabilities a chance to surf

Children and teens with disabilities seized a thrilling chance to surf through "Surf for All," a Long Island nonprofit. Initiated to honor former student Connor Troy, this inclusive surf camp, now in its tenth year, has been a spectacular partnership between the Henri Viscardi School and Surf for All. Its success has given participants confidence and inspiration year after year, introducing them to the ocean's marvels and promoting inclusivity.

Bringing Out the Fun in Surfing

Children and teenagers with disabilities were introduced to the thrilling sport of surfing at the surf camp. They overcame physical obstacles and bravely and resolutely faced the waves, enjoying the freedom and rush that come with riding a surfboard. They had an adventurous experience thanks to this exceptional opportunity, and it also gave them a sense of accomplishment that increased their self-confidence.

The Commitment of Surf for All to Inclusion

With its steadfast commitment to inclusivity, "Surf for All" has made a significant impact on the lives of people with disabilities. The organization inspires people of all abilities to overcome their limitations and defy social preconceptions by hosting surf camps and offering access to adaptive surfing gear. The partnership with the Henri Viscardi School is an example of their dedication to providing chances that let people with disabilities accomplish things that were previously thought to be impossible.

Motivating Future Efforts

Emma Greenfield of Hicksville praises the surf camp's immense influence on participants and stresses the importance of enabling people with disabilities to achieve new milestones. Henri Viscardi School teachers are thrilled with the camp's success and are working together with Surf for All to prepare another session this summer, giving more children with disabilities the opportunity to surf, widen their horizons, and experience pure joy.
