The WNBA playoffs started after a 40-game regular season that had several shocks for both fans and teams. The Las Vegas Aces, the current WNBA champions, started defending their title earlier this week when they hosted the Chicago Sky at T-Mobile Arena. The Aces, who have been the team to beat all season, have been strengthened by the summer addition of veteran and former Chicago star Candace Parker. The Aces dominated the first 40-game season, winning 36 of them to secure the top seed in the Playoffs, while the Sky were barely able to qualify for the postseason on the last day.

A new feat unlocked in the WNBA

While Dwyane Wade and Tom Brady sparred as minority owners in the background, the Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces met. Wade's Sky had a lot of love from the crowd, but the Aces defeated them in the first round of the playoffs. The most anticipated MVP candidate of the season, A'ja Wilson, detailed her epic triumph in her Instagram story and discussed why she is the best possibility to win consecutive MVP awards. She also praised Chelsea Grey for achieving a new milestone in her professional life. On another Instagram Story, she posted a WNBA post and commented, "lol @cgray you tuff."

Jackie Young added 18 points, and Chelsea Grey added 20 points and seven assists to lead the Aces. A'ja Wilson had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, while Kelsey Plum had 16 points. The Aces' score was increased by 13 points by Alysha Clark.
