Every single tennis player wanted to play against Serena Williams when she was active. It was because of the astounding game she had and everybody wanted to experience that on the opposite side of the net. Kim Clijsters, one of her rivals, reminisced about her favorite moment with Serena Williams on the court. Incidentally, it was from the time when Williams won her first US Open in 1999. Clijsters put up a strong fight against the player in the third-round face-off. She served one of her most powerful serves. However, it came at a price because of putting in too much effort.

During an interview when Clijsters was asked about her favorite moment on the court with Williams, she reminisced about the first match against her.
What did Clijsters say?
She said, “Probably the first match that I played against her. I was not known in the tennis world.” Clijsters recalled, “I think it was 99 when she won her first US Open and I think I qualified and played her in the first or second round.”
But then host reminded her about the great fight she had put up against Serena Williams.
She said, “My arm felt like it weighed 100 kilos.” It was because she had given her strongest serve against Williams.
Clijsters had more to add.
Furthermore, she concluded by saying, “Although I lost it was still a big moment for me, playing against Serena, and see her win her first Grand Slam as an American winning in New York was incredible.”
