‘She Used To Bully Me.’ – Sorana Cîrstea Opens Up About Serena Williams’ Aura Before a Tennis Match

She said, “She used to bully me badly. She was trained to do this thing, to bully you in the locker room. First of all, Serena wouldn’t talk to anyone in the locker room, to any other player. We have a shared locker room. It’s a little weird at first when you see someone on TV, and then you go play against them.”



Cîrstea stated that the former world champion used to frighten her opponents before playing them.

She continued by saying that since she grew up watching the American tennis great compete on television, her aura of invincibility has changed. Before Williams’ retirement, the 32-year-old faced off against the tennis great almost three times, but she was never able to defeat the icon.
