‘She’ll Fight Anything’- Ex-Husband Salutes the ‘Champion’ Spirit of Chris Evert in Her Brave Battle Against Cancer



Adding to their glorious tennis careers, Chris Evert and John Lloyd’s chemistry brought a lot of attention to the sport. Both players met each other when they were young and got married in 1979. However, their marriage did not work, and they eventually got divorced in 1987. Nonetheless, both players respect each other. Their mutual respect was particularly evidenced when John Lloyd dropped Evert a message after finding out about her cancer diagnosis.

John Lloyd talked about the experience of marrying the tennis star Chris Evert and how the marriage changed his life. He said, “Getting married to Chris was like going to a different planet.” 








Lloyd had more to add.

He said, “We were both young”. The player accepted the mistakes that they both indulged in. He said, “We both probably did things that we regret. Neither of us were exactly angels.” Furthermore, he talked about their friendship and the mutual respect both of them have for each other.










John Lloyd called Chris Evert, a champion.

Lloyd had commended Evert's strong will and had shown faith in her recovery. He said, “She’s a champion, she’ll fight anything. Champions like her find a way, it’s in their DNA.”
