‘You Don’t Play Tennis’ – 41-Year-Old Serena Williams Reveals Five-Year-Old Daughter’s Ecstasy After She Left Tennis

Serena Williams, a legendary tennis player, decided to retire this year, taking a major step. Williams has been working on other business initiatives and spending time with her five-year-old daughter since her retirement. The tennis pro recently described her daughter’s jubilation whenever she is preoccupied with other work after leaving the sport.

Serena Williams opens up her daughter’s words after leaving tennis.

Williams spoke candidly on the PEOPLE daily podcast about her laid-back schedule after leaving tennis. She did, however, add that her daughter is well aware that her mother is no longer devoted to rigorous training and is making the most of her recently discovered free time in a conversation.

She recalls an incident sharing how her 5-year-old always takes her time out from Williams’ busy schedule.

She said, “I’m always like, ‘Olympia, I’m not working now.’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, you don’t play tennis!’ She’s like, ‘Yes!’ And I don’t really quite know how to feel about that.”

Serena added that she feels fortunate to have found a daughter like her.

She said, “It’s funny … but it’s good because little kids really want to be with their parents. And I just feel fortunate that she wants to be with me.”

Williams has not taken a break since her retirement.

The 23-time Grand Slam Champion is continuously working on her businesses after her retirement from the sport. And in the same conversation, she talked about how she was ready to work the next day after finishing her time in tennis.
